Originally from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Amy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama then completed an Honours Degree at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand studying as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. When she returned to Kentucky she began work at Georgetown College’s Graves Center for Calling & Career. In 2008, Amy developed the Global Scholars Program at Georgetown College, serving as the program’s Executive Director for three years. While working full-time, Amy completed her Master’s degree in Community and Leadership Development at the University of Kentucky. Amy graduated from Leadership Lexington in 2011 and joined the Commerce Lexington, Inc. staff overseeing its leadership programming later that year. In her role, Amy seeks to provide leadership programming that includes education, awareness, networking and community service. Commerce Lexington, Inc.’s various leadership development programs are exceptional ways for participants to learn about Lexington and the Bluegrass Region while furthering their participation in making our area a great place to live!
In October 2013, Lexington Young Professionals Association named Amy as one of the year’s Rising Stars. In addition to serving on the board for The Lexington Forum, Amy is a volunteer with Junior Achievement. She also serves on the board for Reading Camp, which provides 3rd through 5th graders who are reading below grade level with non-traditional educational opportunities that build confidence and empower them to achieve academic success.
